Spring prepares the way for the summer. The fruit blossoms are gone and fruit are now on the trees.
The days grow long; the garden reaches out to you; trees, shrubs, perennials all join in.
Activities now include mowing of the lawn, digging out dead moss and replacing the patches with grass seeds.
Dandelions have to be taken up at the roots, bulbs are deadheaded, spaces are prepared for bedding plants and the planting of summer flowers which will provide a myriad of colours throughout the summer and into the autumn.
It is also the time to plant vegetables such as runner beans and tomatoes.
